Courses Available/Schedule

 

Registration: April 25 -June 3

 

Full year course: Foundations of Computer Science

June 21-July 28; no class on June 20th and July 4th 

Current 9th and 10th Grades

Days/Times: M-F, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

 

Full year course: Chemistry 1

June 21-July 28; no class on June 20th and July 4th 

Current 9th Grade

Days/Times: M-F, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

 

Semester Course: Research Statistics 1

Eligible Current 8th grade students who have completed Precalculus and will be attending TJ next school year.

July 5- July 28; no class on July 4th 

Days/Times: M-F, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

 

Semester Course: TJ Math 5 

Current 9th – 11th Grade students who have completed TJ Math 4

July 5- July 28; no class on July 4th

Days/Times: M-F, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

Tuition

Full-year course: $375

Half-year course: $187.50

Reduced Fees are available for students/families eligible for Free & Reduced lunches and will be applied at the time of registration automatically.

Transportation

 

Full-year course: $120

Half-year course: $80

Free and Reduced Meal students should call 703-658-1201 to receive a discounted rate.

Once you registered, you will receive details of bus pick-up and drop-off locations/times in a separate correspondence.

All students are expected to provide their own transportation to a boarding site in Fairfax County and will need to indicate the boarding site when registering for transportation.

Refunds

 

Refunds are handled online through ACE.

 

Attendance Requirement

 

Students are required to attend class daily for the duration of the entire course.

Attendance is mandatory to receive credit.

  • Students taking full-year classes may be automatically withdrawn if they are absent for more than 2 days (780 minutes).

  • Students taking semester courses may be automatically withdrawn if they are absent for more than 1 day (390 minutes).

  • Attendance is recorded to the minute and all absences/tardies are cumulative.

  • Students must be present the first two days of class. Students  will be automatically dropped if miss more than one minute on any other day the first week of the class for any reason.

Summer Enrichment Virtual Program - Non-Credit Bearing Modules

 

Where

 

 

 

Skill enrichment courses will be held virtually.
What

The summer enrichment modules are designed to focus on skills development in a variety of subject areas. These modules will have synchronous and asynchronous opportunities for students. We encourage students to register for a module if they are interested in the specific content areas or skills. The modules are not required, not for credit, and not graded. Students may register for multiple courses as long as the schedule does not conflict.

Middle School Technology Institute - Open to all FCPS Students

We are happy to bring back the MSTI Summer Program this year.  MSTI is a summer STEM program that consists of experiential workshop style sessions for middle school to explore STEM for FCPS middle school students at TJ. MSTI provides an opportunity to engage young minds in our community  in STEM programs. Sessions occur  weekly.

Middle School Technology Institutes will be held June 21 through July 15.
