United States Space Force Leaders Visit TJHSST
On Wednesday, General John W. “Jay” Raymond (TJ Class of ’80), head of the United States Space Force, along with NASA Astronaut Col. Nick Hague, US Space Force visited TJHSST as part of their “Stem to Space” program.
Speaking in front of 200 students during eighth period in the TJ gymnasium, Gen. Raymond and Col. Hague talked about their careers and told stories about the establishment of the USSF. Gen. Raymond talked about his time at TJ. They then took questions that were submitted by TJ students. Most student questions revolved around the future plans for the military’s newest branch and how it works with NASA. They also were curious about what courses of studies they should pursue should they be interested in joining the USSF in the future.
After the presentation, Gen. Raymond and Col. Hague visited with some students one-on-one, as well as checked out a presentation on TJ’s CubeSat. That included visiting Ms. Kucko’s robotics lab to take a look at the satellite.
